Maricopa Community Colleges has partnered with the City of Tempe to bring you a dedicated support team and streamlined access to college classes at our 10 community colleges. We're here to support you as you utilize the City of Tempe's tuition assistance benefits to further your career. We offer flexible learning options that work with your busy schedule.

Pursue Your Education with Direct Billing

As one of the City of Tempe's educational partners, all eligible City of Tempe employees can participate in classes, degree programs, or earn certificates at any of the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges with direct billed tuition using your tuition assistance benefit (up to $6,500 per year!)

 

To be eligible for this program, you must:

- Have at least one year of service in a full-time or part-time position (Amount of award varies based on status)

- Be in good standing in all areas of performance, attendance, and conduct in your current position.

 

The City of Tempe will pay for degrees and courses that are directly related to your present job or will enhance your potential for advancement in the organization. All courses must be pre-approved by submitting a request through the City's online form, and failure to pass your classes with a C or better will result in you having to reimburse the City for the cost of your tuition and fees. Schedule an appointment with your advisor.

Complete your FERPA form and your City of Tempe Eligibility form.

Submit your enrollment request form, including your approved City of Tempe Eligibility form, and your dedicated advisor will enroll you in classes!

Organizational Development Icon

 

Organizational Development | The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Organizational Management program is designed with a customized curriculum specific to the student's needs and the knowledge and skills needed in today's changing workplace. The program provides leadership and communication skills and techniques for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling business situations. This program also emphasizes procedures for effective resource allocation. A Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Organizational Leadership is fully embedded in this AAS.

 

 

 

Public Administration Icon

 

Public Administration | The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Public Administration program is designed to meet the needs of government and non-profit employees and those desiring employment or advancement within these agencies. The program covers the history, present, and future of public administration. Courses include topics on public policy, finance, human resources, organizational behavior, and government.

 

Did you know Tempe residents are eligible for scholarships through the Tempe Workforce Skills Accelerator?

The Tempe Workforce Skills Accelerator partnership was created by Rio Salado College and the Tempe Chamber, offering three online microcredentials to upskill Tempe businesses' workforce. To alleviate financial burdens, 20 scholarships are available through the Tempe Chamber and Tempe Chamber Foundation to member companies who need assistance to offer this opportunity to their workers. This is a great opportunity for your friends and family members who are looking to pursue their education!
