The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in J-STD Soldering Certification will prepare the successful student to receive the "Certified IPC Specialist" (CIS) certification from The Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC) in "Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies" (IPC J-STD-001).
Topics covered and skills to be demonstrated are: soldered wires and terminals, through hole connections, surface mount components, and inspection.
The J-Standard Soldering pathway map will help you gain the expertise needed to:
• Explain IPC J-STD-001 Professional Policies, Procedures and General Requirements.
• Demonstrate assembly of soldered components per J-STD requirements.
• Evaluate assemblies for acceptance/reject decisions.
Successful completion of this certificate may lead to employment in a variety of different occupations and industries. Electrical and Electronic Equipment Assemblers in Arizona earn an average of $47,560 per year (Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)!
