What is the Cloud Skills Challenge?

The Cloud Skills Challenge is a fun, competitive way to complete the interactive, learning paths and modules from Microsoft Learn’s online learning platform.

 

Microsoft and the Maricopa Community Colleges have partnered to bring you these free non-credit courses to help prepare you for Microsoft Fundamentals certifications through short step-by-step tutorials, browser-based interactive coding and scripting environments, and task-based achievements.

 

The Maricopa Community Colleges have IT Institutes across the Valley that exist to train the future IT workforce for excellence in emerging technologies.

AZURE FUNDAMENTALS


Azure Fundamentals will help you learn and demonstrate foundational-level knowledge of cloud services and how those services are provided with Microsoft Azure. If you have both non-technical and technical backgrounds, this course will validate your foundational-level knowledge of cloud services. Technical IT experience is not required; however, some general IT knowledge or experience would be beneficial. As part of this course, it is expected that you will take the AZ900 Certification Exam.

 

With this learning path, you will:

     Learn core Azure services

     Understand security, privacy, compliance, and trust

AZURE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) FUNDAMENTALS


Artificial intelligence has been a revolutionary technology in the IT industry. The demand for AI-related job roles is increasing at an unbelievably fast rate, and the demand for Azure AI engineers is at an all-time high. The Azure AI Fundamentals AI-900 certification requires you to have foundational knowledge of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and related Microsoft Azure services.

 

With this learning path, you will:

POWER PLATFORM FUNDAMENTALS


You can prove you understand the core capabilities of Power Platform – from business value and core product capabilities to building a simple Power Apps canvas app, connecting data sources, automating basic business processes with Power Automate, creating a Power BI dashboard, and creating powerful chatbots with Power Virtual Agents. You will take the PL-900 certification exam.

 

With this learning path, you will:

     Create a simple Power App

  •   Connect data with Common Data Service

  •   Build a Power BI dashboard

  •   Automate a process with Microsoft Automate

AZURE DATA FUNDAMENTALS


Azure Data Fundamentals can be used to prepare for other Azure role-based certifications like Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate, but it’s not a prerequisite for any of them. You will take the DP-900 certification exam.
