What is the Semiconductor industry?

Blue underline

Semiconductor Technicians help manufacture semiconductors (essential components of electronic devices) with the use of special purpose furnaces, x-ray equipment, chemical baths, and equipment used to form circuitry and change conductive properties. These technicians work in a clean room environment and wear "bunny suits" (an overall garment to minimize contaminants).

Maricopa Community Colleges’ short-term training program is designed to help prepare students for when jobs become available, to help students gain skills and knowledge to apply to an Automated Industrial Technology certificate or degree program, as well as to help individuals who are interested in applying these skills to other growing sectors of manufacturing.
